What’s happening with Citus and Azure?

In January of 2019, we shared some big news with the world: that Microsoft has acquired Citus Data. And since then, in addition to all the Citus goodness we usually work on (Citus open source, our Citus Cloud database as a service, and Citus Enterprise), our team has been hard at work to bring Citus to Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

As part of Microsoft, we will stay focused on building an amazing database on top of PostgreSQL that gives our users the game-changing scale, performance, and resilience they need. We will continue to drive innovation in this space.

Together, Microsoft and Citus Data will further unlock the power of data, enabling customers to scale complex multi-tenant SaaS applications and accelerate the time to insight with real-time analytics over billions of rows, all with the familiar PostgreSQL tools developers know and love.

Today we are welcoming Citus Data to Microsoft, building on our commitments to make Azure the most comprehensive cloud to run open source and proprietary workloads—at any scale—and to accelerate developer freedom, innovation and openness.
