Citus Data Pre-sales Consultant

The Pre-sales Consultant will work as part of the Citus Data Sales team.

Responsibilities

Your job will be to work with the sales team to help match customers needs before and during the sales process, with the right mix of open source technologies, PostgreSQL, CitusDB. The Pre-sales Consultant must have strong communication skills and an excellent rapport on the phone. The candidate must have a background in RDBMS and database related technologies, along with a strong desire to learn the ins and outs of the solutions we build for our customers. Customers will ask you the tough questions, and your answers will reflect on all of us.

This position will act as a technical consultant / advisor to our clients. This resource will be responsible for working with customers to understand their scaling needs and help them grow. Post sales, she or he will continue to be a technical resource to our customers to help them find the right mix of products and services to meet their needs and help us uncover new opportunities.

This position is primarily in the San Francisco office. Some travel is required, however.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience with RDBMS-based solutions
  • 3+ years experience in an advisory role / technical consultanting in infrastructures
  • 3+ years running high availability solutions
  • 3+ years of working with and understanding various cloud-based architectures and solutions
  • Knowledge and a deep understanding of various data storage methods and technologies including various non-relational tools like MongoDB, Redis, Hbase, Hadoop, etc.
  • A strong desire to learn and keep ahead of the industry by quickly researching and adopting to new techniques and technologies.
  • Driven and highly motivated, capable of working independently, an outside the box thinker
