Features Not in v2.0

We know we have a lot more to do before we can declare Citus DB complete. Still, we feel we have a version that can be useful to many people, and we aim to continuously improve upon our product using your feedback. So if you feel blocked by any of the missing features below, please send us an email at engage @ citusdata.com. This will help us prioritize our new feature releases accordingly. For now, we have the following restrictions in Citus DB:

  • Real-time insert, update, or deletes issued against the master node.
  • Automatically propagating schema changes to old shards.
  • Certain types of sub-selects, where the sub-select cannot be flattened out by Postgres.
  • Large table joins where tables aren't already partitioned on the join key.
  • Distinct clauses on columns that aren't part of the table partition key.
